During the recently concluded T20 World Cup, a report emerged from Sri Lanka alleging that an unnamed Pakistani player had misbehaved with female hotel staff and was fined. ARY News allegedly named Salman Mirza in its report. Upon receiving the report, the 32-year-old bowler dismissed it as "nonsense." Mirza has now sent an official legal notice in this matter. Salman Mirza's notice, which has been shared on the social media platform X, also has three key points:
1. The journalist and channel should immediately retract their report and statement.
2. A public, unconditional apology should be issued for this defamation.
3. A compensation of PKR 100 million should be paid for the damage caused to the player's image.

Reacting strongly to the ARY News report, Salman Mirza wrote on his X account, "A baseless news is circulating in the media, and I strongly condemn such shoddy journalism. The Pakistan Cricket Board has already dismissed this baseless news. I am going to take legal action against journalist Shahid Hashmi and the news house concerned. Such vulgar reporting should be banned, and the Pakistani government should take strict action against these individuals."
