Maharashtra Marathi-Hindi Controversy: MNS Leader Reshma Tapase got Nervous due to Tough Questions of NDTV Reoprter

NDTV journalist Sujata Dwivedi asked relevant questions to MNS leader Reshma Tapase.

Mumbai
: In Maharashtra, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena have opened a front over the Marathi language. Recently, MNS workers beat up a shopkeeper for not speaking Marathi. Regarding this, NDTV journalist Sujata Dwivedi asked relevant questions to MNS leader Reshma Tapase, the video of which is viral on social media.

MNS Vice President in Maharashtra Reshma Tapase told NDTV that those who come here and do not respect the Marathi language will be beaten up. We will file a sedition case against them. On this, journalist Sujata Dwivedi told Tapase that cases have already been filed against workers of her own party for beating people in the name of language.

In response to this, Reshma Tapase said that it doesn't matter, there are many cases against MNS, there are cases filed against me too. This is not a big deal. We are ready for this. She said that we are doing all this for Marathi and Maharashtra. Those who come here or have settled here, they have to decide whether they will speak Marathi or not.

The MNS leader explained the difference between Hindi and Marathi and said that both have Devanagari script. Hindi was born after Marathi. She said that you like the Hindi language used by the Mughals, but you are calling the Marathi language revived by Chhatrapati Shivaji, anti-Hindu.

The MNS leader also said that she is speaking in Hindi so that her message reaches people across the country. Defending her party's stand, she said that most of the states of the country have been formed on the basis of language. On advocating Marathi in this way, journalist Sujata Dwivedi asked Tapase that how would she feel if she goes to any other state and is forced to speak the language of that state?

The journalist gave the example of Karnataka for this, where some organizations are insisting everyone to learn Kannada. On this, MNS leader Reshma Tapase gave a strange argument and said that I did not go to Karnataka because I do not know the language there. After this, a heated debate took place between the two.

NDTV journalist: How many languages do you know?

MNS leader: English, Hindi and Marathi.

NDTV journalist: Will you never go out of Maharashtra in your lifetime?

MNS leader: Why won't I go? I know English, right?

NDTV journalist: So you have a problem with Hindi?

MNS leader: Yes, of course, Hindi is neither my language, nor the language of the nation.

NDTV journalist: Don't you think that you people can also open a school and teach Marathi?

MNS leader: Whoever comes to me, learns it.

NDTV journalist: By beating like this?

MNS leader: No, do you know who gets beaten up? The one who is more hot-tempered, the one who speaks arrogantly, gets beaten up.

During the interview, when a supporter of MNS leader Tapase pointed to the word arrogance, reporter Sujata Dwivedi immediately interrupted and said that it is an English word. This video is now viral on social media platforms. People are praising the journalist for asking tough questions to the MNS leader.
