Mexico: Social media influencer Valeria Marquez was shot dead in Mexico while she was live-streaming on TikTok. On the pretext of giving a gift to 23-year-old Valeria, the attacker entered her beauty salon on Tuesday night and shot her. Valeria died on the spot. She has more than 340,000 followers on Instagram and 114,000 on TikTok. She used to share clips related to beauty and lifestyle.
The video of this incident is also going viral on social media. In the video, Valeria is seen smiling. Suddenly she looks out of the window and then she is fired upon. Marquez was livestreaming from her salon named Blossom the Beauty Lounge. In the footage, the TikToker can be seen sitting at a table and talking to her followers. A few seconds before the incident, she was heard saying, "They are coming." After this a voice comes in the background "Hey, well?" Marquez replied, "Yes."
Soon after, the sound of gunfire is heard in the background. Marquez holds her ribs and then falls on the table. A man is seen picking up her phone. Her face is briefly visible on the livestream before the video ends. Marquez said during the livestream that someone brought an expensive gift for her to the salon when she was not there. She also looked a little worried. She said that she was not waiting for that person to come back.
According to media reports, Marquez was shot in the chest and head and died on the spot. Doctors tried hard, but she could not be saved. It is being told that the gunman attacker came on a motorcycle and pretended to give Marquez a gift.

Valeria Marquez's murder is being considered a femicide. Femicide is a gender-based killing that is very common in Mexico.
