9th IIMCAA Awards: BBC Journalist Sarvapriya Sangwan gets Journalist of the Year Award

New Delhi: The winners of the 9th IIMCAA Awards were honored on Sunday, 23 February, at the annual Connections Meet of IIMC Alumni Association.
BBC journalist Sarvapriya Sangwan was honored with the Journalist of the Year award at the award ceremony held in New Delhi. She was also given a prize money of Rs 1.5 lakh along with a trophy and certificate.
Goonj founder Anshu Gupta and writer-journalist Nilesh Misra were honored with the Alumni of the Year Award.
Pallav Jain was awarded Agriculture Reporter of the Year, Sandeep Rajwade Reporter of the Year Publishing, Ajatika Singh Reporter of the Year Broadcasting, Harshita Rathore Producer of the Year, R. Samban Indian Language Reporter of the Year Publishing, Anuj Kumar Das Indian Language Reporter of the Year Broadcast, Pankaj Bora AD Person of the Year and Ashish Shukla PR Person of the Year.
The winners of various jury awards, with prize money ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.50 lakh, were awarded by the jury of the respective categories.
In the ceremony, about 80 alumni who passed out from IIMC 25 years ago were also given Silver Jubilee honors.
As part of the committee awards, Prof. Ashok Ogra from Delhi, Jahnabi Phookan from Guwahati, Sujata Sabnis from Pune, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh from Tezpur, and Dr. Medini Prasad Roy from Delhi were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Public Service Award was given to Jamshedpur SSP Kishor Kaushal and social worker Aditya Vardhan from Gaya. Ketan Tanna from Maharashtra, Sudhansu Kumar Patro from Odisha and Marinder Mishra from Uttar Pradesh received the Connecting Alumni of the year award, while the IIMCAA Gujarat Committee was given the Connecting Chapter of the year award.
Santosh Kumar Valmeeki from UP, Kalyan Ranjan and Nitin Pradhan from Delhi, Alice Guram from Punjab, Braj Kishore, Krishna Pophale from Maharashtra and Byomakesh Biswal from Odisha were awarded the Pillars of IIMCAA Award.
Avian WE bagged the PR Agency of the Year and Kaizzen won the Digital Agency of the Year awards.

IIMCAA President Simrat Gulati chaired the event that was addressed by IIMCAA Awards Auditor Rajesh Kalra, Coordinator Sneha Bhattacharjee, General Secretary Deeksha Saksena, Treasurer Animesh Biswas, Connections Meet Principal Organiser Prem Prakash, Global Meet Convenor Rajesh Kumar, Chapter Meet Convenor Neeraj Bajpai, Silver Jubilee Batch Coordinator Arijit Banerjee, and Souvenir's Editor Sushil Singh. Former IIMCAA Presidents Mukesh Kaushik, Sunila Dhar, Prasad Sanyal, Kalyan Ranjan, Executive President Gayatri Srivastava, and senior professionals from the fields of journalism, PR, and advertising from across the country participated in the event.
