Journalist was Reporting in Depths of the River, When Something Happened Which Scared Him!
Brazil: A horrific incident happened with journalist Lenildo Frazão in Brazil. He was reporting the disappearance of a minor girl in the Mearim River in Bacabal, northeastern Brazil. He had entered the water to find out the depth of the river, when his foot hit something and he got out of the river in a hurry. Actually, the thing that hit the journalist's foot was the dead body of the missing girl. She has been identified as Raíssa.
13-year-old school student Raíssa was last seen in the Mearim River. She suddenly went missing in the river while swimming with her friends. Journalist Lenildo Frazão had also reached the spot to report the incident. He got into the middle of the water to show the depth and flow of the river. But after a few moments, when the water reached up to Frazao's chest, he suddenly jumped up in shock. He told his team that something had hit him under the water.
Frazão can be heard saying in Portuguese, "I think there's something at the bottom of the water." He stepped back, shaking, and said, "No, I'm not leaving, I'm scared. It looks like a hand. Could it be hers? But it could be a fish, I don't know."

Following this shocking incident, Rescue Team and divers resumed their search at the same place on 30 June 2025. Raíssa's body was later recovered from the same spot where Frazão had moved away in surprise after his foot hit something. In fact, the thing that his foot hit was Raíssa's body.
The post-mortem ruled Raíssa's death as an accidental drowning. No signs of trauma were found on her body. Raíssa was buried on the evening of 30 June. The school declared three days of mourning in her honor. A community gathering was also held, where friends and family prayed for the departed soul and paid tribute to her memory by lighting candles.
Journalist Lenaldo Frazao in his report highlighted the dangerous condition of the river and said that the river has strong currents and deep holes in the bottom, which pose hidden dangers.
