Thousands call for national unity & tolerance in Indonesia, protest agai...

Thousands of Indonesian filled the center of capital Jakarta on December 4 calling for national unity and tolerance in a peace rally, two days after a massive protest against the city's governor.

"We are Indonesia, a diverse nation of various ethnic groups living on different islands. We want to show the world, not only to Indonesia, but to the world that we're here united as one," said Jakarta resident George Agus.

With crowd holding Indonesian national flags and "We are Indonesia" placards gathered near the city's landmark Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout, the rally was a stark contrast from December 2 protest where about 150,000 white-clad protesters demanding governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama to be jailed.
