An Egyptian mummy Princess Naishu rests in Hyderabad at YSR State Museum. She is one of six Egyptian mummies in India, and is the only one in south India. Dated to have lived between 300 BC and 100 BC, Naishu is said to be the daughter of the sixth Pharaoh of Egypt. Archiology department officials are taking this as a pride and are giving complete care in preserving and maintaining the mummy. They also say it is important for the public to know about Naishu and her history. Many touristers from all over the world come to the state museum, most of them go back with amusement as it is not expected for them to come across a mummy in India. They say they are surprised.
