Rare Moment: Deer rescued after getting stuck on frozen river in Simsbur...

Rescuers pulled a deer from a frozen river in Simsbury, Connecticut on Monday (January 9), after the animal was stuck for hours. Citing animal control officials, the NBC affiliate reported coyotes chased the deer on to the ice, where she fell into the water before being able to climb onto the ice. An animal rights activist tethered to a rope used a sheet to cover the deer's eyes and pulled her to shore. The animal could be seen resting in the woods after her ordeal, but there was no word on whether she suffered any injuries.
