Height of cruelty : Stray dog brutally killed in Mumbai- India, CCTV cap...

A stray dog was brutally killed inside a housing complex at Jawahar Nagar, Goregaon (west), by repeatedly hitting it with bamboo sticks. The entire violence of this cruelty was captured in a CCTV camera installed at the complex, leading to the eventual arrest of the main dog killer.

An official at Goregaon police station confirmed that one accused man, Kishan R Bagwat (39), was arrested on January 23 for the crime which took place on January 18, under the IPC section 429 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
Shocked local activists and animal lovers posted the video depicting how a few men armed with heavy sticks had barged inside the complex to mercilessly pound the dog which could only cower and bark at his killers.

"There were several spectators who were silently witnessing the crime taking place. I want to urge all citizens to at least call the police emergency number '100' any time they witness any crime in public. This can act as a deterrent against those who feel they can get away with murder," said Goregaon based animal activist Bhavin Gathani.
