Heavy rain and strong winds on Spain's southern coastline of Andalusia prompted the closure of schools in Malaga and Cadiz on December 5.
The rains flooded homes, blocked roads and killed two people on December 4 prompting the Spanish government to issue a public safety warning.
Spain's meteorological service on Sunday issued a "red alert", its highest level of warning for "extreme risk," but has since lowered the warning level to "orange alert" indicating an "important risk."
