The Seventh Chengdu International Kite Festival kicked off in the namesake city of southwest China's Sichuan Province on Saturday. Various of elaborately designed kites flew in the sky, attracting a lot of visitors. There were colorful kites in the shape of wolves, butterflies, wheels, and other nontraditional kite design soaring in the sky. A huge "Chinese dragon" kite attracted the most attention. "It is 48 meters long and has attended many competitions across China and has won many prizes. To make such a kite, if I work for eight hours per day, it needs two or three months to finish," said Mr. Deng, the make of the "Chinese dragon". The annual festival attracted kite enthusiasts from across China to participate."This is a rider who is riding a bicycle. He pedals the fan blades with his feet to make the kite run faster. The rider's legs move," said a kite enthusiast.
