World's oldest giant panda Basi had a party for her 37th birthday

The World's oldest giant panda Basi had a party for her upcoming 37th birthday in 2017 on 18 of January, receiving a certificate as the world's oldest of her kind raised in captivity in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province. Basi's ripe old age is the equivalent to over 100 human years. She was born in November 1980 in Baoxing County, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Basi is no stranger to the limelight, however, as she inspired the creation of "Pan Pan", the official mascot of the 1990 Beijing Asian Games. She remains in good health, with a team from Fuzhou's panda research and exchange center giving her around-the-clock care.
