Thousands of people welcomed in the Chinese New Year on January 28 at Hong Kong's parade featuring 10 floats and over 3000 performers. Marking the 20th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong from British rule back to China, the territory celebrated the first day of the Year of the Rooster. One of the highlights included a first-ever collaboration between two marching bands, Hong Kong's Pegasus Vanguard and the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps from the United States. Both were champions at the prestigious Drum Corps International World Championships.
