Giant panda family to celebrate lunar New Year with residents in Macao

Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) residents are welcome to visit a giant panda couple and their seven-month-old twin sons and celebrate the Lunar New Year with the panda family during the Spring Festival season from Jan 27 to Feb 12, said local authorities.Macao SAR’s Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) said that they have planned two events for the residents to enjoy the festival in the company of the panda family. In one event, the 2,000 residents who had participated in a previous campaign to name the panda couple’s newborn sons can visit the zoo for free. The twin brothers were born in June 2016, and were named Jian Jian and Kang Kang, which mean well-being in Chinese, by residents in a panda naming campaign. The idea was to wish the twin brothers a lifetime well-being. The parents, Kai Kai and Xin Xin were the gift from the central government.
