Thousands protest against legalising same-sex (LGBT) marriage in Taiwan



Thousands of demonstrators gathered in front of the presidential office in Taiwan on Saturday (December 3) to protest against legalising same-sex marriage, while around a dozen supporters of the legislation were also there to express their feelings.

Taiwan's parliament has been discussing a potential amendment to the country's civil code to make same-sex marriage legal.If the law was changed Taiwan would become the first country in Asia to legalise same-sex marriage.Among the protesters was Chu Wu-hsien, the president of Taiwan's Religious Development Foundation.
